Description

Duties
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a community based setting
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
- Document and maintain accurate records of individual progress and any incidents that occur

 

Experience
- Previous experience working in a similar role, such as direct support professional, educator, or social worker, is preferred
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is beneficial
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is an asset

 

Skills:
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and other staff members
- Ability to follow instructions and implement care plans accurately
- Excellent observation skills to monitor individuals' physical and emotional well-being

 

Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed. Part of this role requires transporting participants to and from destinations in the community. TNS requires all drivers to carry personal insurance, and undergo annual Motor Vehicle history reports.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.58 - $20.40 per hour

Shifts available Monday - Friday from 8:45 AM- 4:15 PM.
